BRE BANK AND BZ WBK
Citigroup cuts Polish medium-sized lenders BRE Bank
<BREP.WA> and Bank Zachodni WBK <BZWB.WA> to 'hold' from 'buy',
the brokerage said in a report dated September 3.
INTERCARS
ING raises car components distributor Inter Cars <IRCR.WA>
to 'buy' from 'hold' and cuts its target price for the stock by
20 percent to 69 zlotys, saying the company should benefit from
the zloty's recent weakness.
CIECH
Poland's largest chemical producer Ciech <CECH.WA> may sell
its stake in insurance company PTU worth 230 million zlotys by
the end of September, newspaper Parkiet qoutes its source at the
company as saying.
AGORA
Poland's largest publisher Agora <AGOD.WA> said average copy
sales of its flagship newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza fell 8.8 percent
to 386,000 daily in July. []
PKN ORLEN AND LOTOS
Poland may free PKN Orlen <PKNA.WA> and Lotos <LTOS.WA> from
keeping obligatory oil and fuel reserves in return for fees, the
economy ministry said on Wednesday. []
TVN
Audience share of Poland's TV broadcaster TVN's <TVNN.WA>
namesake channel fell to 13 percent in August, as viewers
switched to public television channels for the Olympics, the
company said in a statement on Wednesday. []
PEKAO
Italy's bank UniCredit SpA <CRDI.MI> will rename its Polish
unit Pekao <BAPE.WA> as UniCredit Pekao next year, its chief
executive said on Wednesday.
HIDROELECTRICA
Romania's state-owned hydro-power producer Hidroelectrica
plans to sell 17 micro hydro-power units in October for 40-50
million euros, the company's chief was quoted saying by Business
Standard.
EUROPEAN MARKETS
European stock index futures are flat to lower in early
trade amid growth worries, with the DJ Euro Stoxx 50 futures
<STXEc1> and DAX futures <FDXc1> down 0.1-0.2 percent and CAC
futures <FCEc1> flat.
