PRAGUE, Oct 8 (Reuters) - The Czech left-wing Social
Democrats (CSSD) pulled further ahead of the main rightist
party, the Civic Democrats (ODS) ahead of an election in
mid-2010, a survey showed on Thursday.
The poll by the CVVM agency showed backing for the Social
Democrats at the end of September rose to 32.0 percent from 29.5
percent a month ago, while support for the right-wing Civic
Democrats shrank to 28.5 percent from 29.5 percent.
No party is expected to win an outright majority in the
spring election, and the poll showed various majority coalitions
would be possible.
Support for the newly-formed conservative party TOP09 dipped
to 12.5 percent from 13.0 percent. Backing for the far-left
Communists fell to 12 percent from 15.5 percent.
The Czech Republic has had a non-partisan government headed
by Prime Minister Jan Fischer since the leftist parties toppled
a Civic Democrat-led coalition government in March.
A plan to hold an early ballot in October was struck down by
the Constitutional Court last month.
Parties must win at least 5 percent of the national vote to
win seats in parliament.

the vote at the election.
