FOURTEEN KILLED AS SLOVAK BUS CRASHES IN CROATIA
As many as 14 people died when a Slovak bus crashed on
Sunday on the main Croatian highway connecting the capital
Zagreb and the Adriatic city of Split, state radio reported
citing hospital sources.

C.BANK FOREX RESERVES DROP TO $18.5 BLN
The Slovak central bank's (NBS) foreign currency reserves
edged down to $18.507 billion as of Sept 3, from $18.815 billion
on Aug 26, the bank said on Friday.

FICO STEPS UP PRESSURE ON SPP
Prime Minister Robert Fico has asked the gas monopoly SPP to
withdraw its request for a 19.8 percent hike in gas prices for
households or his cabinet would draft a law to prevent such a
hike. The government may also impose addition tax on SPP or gain
management control in the company, Fico said.
