WARSAW, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press

LOTOS <LTOS.WA>
ING downgrades Poland's oil refiner Lotos <LTOS.WA> to
'sell' from 'buy' and slashed its target price by 79 percent to
9 zlotys, saying refining woes and financial costs will weigh on
the company's earnings in the next two years.
LPP <LPPP.WA>
ING raises Poland's largest clothing retailer LPP to 'buy'
from 'hold' and cuts its target price by 21 percent to 1,223.5
zlotys, saying decent fourth-quarter earnings outlook makes the
scale of the stock's recent decline unwarranted.
KGHM <KGHM.WA>
Poland's copper producer KGHM will meet its full-year net
profit forecast of 2.9 billion zlotys as hedging transactions
protected the company against the fall in copper prices, daily
Parkiet reports without giving sources.
TPSA <TPSA.WA>
Poland's largest phone company TPSA, a unit of France
Telecom <FTE.PA>, is unlikely in 2009 to keep its investment at
13-14 percent of revenue seen this year due to the regulator's
attempt to split the company, its management board member

PKN ORLEN <PKNA.WA>
Poland's largest oil refinerPKN Orlen has reached a $20
million settlement wit the U.S. oil giant ConocoPhillips <COP.N>
over its Czech operations, daily Parkiet reports without giving
sources.
NEW ROMANIAN BANK
Investment fund Romanian-American Enterprise Fund has asked
the central bank for to authorise the creation of a commercial
bank, which may get approval as early as next spring, daily
Ziarul Financiar writes.
E.ON <EONG.DE>
German utility E.ON plans to further invest in building new
gas-fired power, hydro-power and wind-powered plants in Romania,
newspaper Business Standard writes.
EUROPEAN MARKETS
European stocks were seen opening mixed on Monday, as
investors turned cautious after gloomy manufacturing data out of
China and ahead of a flurry of U.S. macro data due this week and
rate decisions by both the European Central Bank and the Bank of
England on Thursday.
