FINMIN ON INFLATION
Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Tvaroska and Jan Toth, head
of the ministry's fiscal policy institute will comment on jumps
in consumer prices, 0945 GMT.
EURO FUTURE DEBATE
Richard Sulik, the parliamentary speaker, Peter Kazimir
ex-deputy finance minister and now a vice-chairman of the
strongest opposition party SMER, and senior analysts will
address a conference on 'the future of the euro', 0900 GMT.
JAN HEADLINE CPI +1.9 M/M, +3.0 PCT Y/Y
Slovak consumer prices jumped in line with expectations by
1.9 percent on the month in January, putting the annual
inflation rate at 3.0 percent from 1.3 percent seen in December,
the Statistics Office said on Friday.

CAR PRODUCTION SEEN ABOVE 600,000 IN 2011
Car production in Slovakia, centered around assembly plants

Slovakia's struggles to meet its commitments towards the
North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) and modernisation
lags, due to lack of funds from the state budget, Frank Boland,

WINTER DEAFLYMPICS CANCELLED
Slovaks were forced to cancel 17th Winter Deaflympics as the
organisation team failed to secure needed financial resources,
infrastructure and venues for single events. This was the first
cancellation for the deaf games, which were founded in 1949 and
take place every four years.
