SINGAPORE, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Gold ticked higher on Monday
as the euro gained following Ireland's rescue deal, helping the
metal resist pressure from China's measures to tighten its
economy.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Spot gold added $1.65 an ounce to $1,355.80 an
ounce by 0036 GMT, still well below a lifetime high around
$1,424 an ounce struck in early November.
* U.S. gold futures for December delivery rose $4.7
to $1,357 an ounce.
* iShares Silver Trust , the world's largest
silver-backed exchange-traded fund, said its holdings rose to
another record of 10,814.62 tonnes by Nov. 19. For details of

* China has announced a series of new price-control
measures
to rein in inflation, demanding increases in food production
and
stable energy supplies, state media reported on Monday.

MARKET NEWS
* The euro, Asian stocks and commodities got a fillip on
Monday after global financial authorities agreed to bail out
debt-swamped Ireland and protect Europe's wider financial
stability.
* U.S. crude futures rose above $82 a barrel on Monday,
helped by a weaker dollar against the euro after the EU and IMF
agreed to help bail out Ireland with loans to tackle the
country's banking and budget crisis.
* Japan's Nikkei share average rose 1.1 percent and hit a
fresh five-month intraday high on Monday, after having risen
last week on the back of short-covering and year-end portfolio
tweaking by overseas investors.
