PKN ORLEN <PKNA.WA>
Poland's largest refiner PKN Orlen expects its earnings
before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) to
rise to 7.8 billion zlotys ($2.6 billion) in 2013, the company
said in a strategy update. []
PKN holds news conference at 0930 GMT to present the details
of the stategy.
DEPOSITS JUMP IN POLAND
Poles put a record 7.4 billion zlotys ($2.53 billion) on
three-month deposits in October as banks aggressively lifted
interest payments, newspaper Parkiet writes.
BPH <BPHW.WA>
Poland's mid-sized lender BPH delayed its merger with GE
Money Bank, a local unit of General Electric's <GE.N> to the
third quarter of 2009, due to the global financial turmoil, BPH
said on Tuesday. []
MONBAT <MONBAT.BB>
Bulgarian battery producer Monbat posted net sales revenues
of 17.1 million levs ($11.26 million) in October, down by 10
percent compared to the same month a year ago, Pari writes.
ARCELORMITTAL <MTP.PA>
ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steelmaker, plans to lay
off 980 out of 10,765 workers employeed at its mills in Poland
next year, newspaper Puls Biznesu reports, citing documents
filed by the company at a local labour office.
RENAULT <RENA.PA>
Romanian carmaker Dacia, owned by France's Renault, will
decide in December whether to renew contracts for 600 of its
14,700 workers after the company halted production earlier this
month due to a slumping demand, daily Ziarul Financiar reports.
NOKIA <NOK1V.HE>
The Romanian unit of Finnish mobile phone giant Nokia will
stop production during winter holidays between Dec. 22 and Jan.

EUROPEAN MARKETS
European stock futures fell in early trade on Wednesday,
suggesting that shares would snap a two-day winning streak.
