SOLID GDP ACROSS REGION: State spending helped Hungarian
consumers climb aboard a nascent recovery in the third quarter
and Bulgaria grew more than previously thought, as euro zone
demand continued to lead eastern Europe out of crisis.
A main supplier to the euro engine Germany, the Czech
Republic also showed solid growth, while Estonia, set to join
the currency area on Jan. 1, powered ahead with a 5 percent
expansion over a year earlier.

ECB SAYS VULNERABILITIES REMAIN IN CEE: Economic and
financial conditions have improved in European Union states
outside of the euro zone, but the vulnerabilities seen at the
height of the global crisis broadly persist, the European
Central Bank said on Thursday.

MOSTECKA TAKEOVER: Investor Pavel Tykac is to buy out the
half of coal firm Czech Coal that he does not already own from
his two partners, Hospodarske Noviny reported without revealing
its sources. Czech Coal is a lignite supplier to power firm CEZ
<>. The two firms have held long-term disputes about
coal prices and projects to build new power plants.

PENSION PLANS: The Labour Ministry plans the entire state
revenue from dividends paid by CEZ <> next year to go
toward pension reform. CEZ, a power firm, pays around 28 billion
crown dividend per year. The state is a 70 percent owner.
