CZECHS CAN MISS MAASTRICHT: The Czech 2009 budget deficit
could widen to more than the 3 percent Maastricht criteria
required for euro adoption if growth falls below 1 percent this

CZECH TRANSMISSION FEE PROPOSAL: The Czech EU Presidency
proposes to implement a standardised cross-border electricity
transmission fee in a bid to simplify payments to grid operators
and raise money to enhance the continent's network, Czech

EU-CHINA SUMMIT: The European Union and China agreed on
Friday to hold a summit soon, marking an improvement in
relations strained by Europe's warm reception last year for
Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.
The Czech Republic, which assumed the presidency from France

Prague and was scheduled for after the London G20 summit of
April 2.
