LOWER DEBT ISSUANCE PLAN: The Czech Republic will cut gross borrowing needs for 2011 to 250-270 billion crowns, Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek said on Friday, lower than previously planned and down from 280 billion crowns this year.

TOUGHER POWER REGULATION: The Industry Ministry proposes that new Czech power plants will have to get an approval from the government to make sure they are in line with an overall national power strategy. The plan is part of a drive to halt a boom in heavily-subsidised solar energy.
