FEBRUARY CURRENT ACCOUNT BALANCE DATA
The central bank will publish preliminary February and
revised January current account balance data, 0800 GMT.
ECONMIN ON LABOUR CODE CHANGES
The economy ministry will hold news conference to brief on
talk with employers over planned changes to the labour code, to
be debated by the government on Thursday, 1430 GMT
SLOVAK FEB C/A SWINGS INTO SURPLUS ON EU FUNDS
Slovakia's current account swung into a surplus in February
on higher inflow of European Union funds, after a 54 million
euro ($78.45 million) deficit in January, the central bank said
on Tuesday.

SLOVAKIA'S BANKS SNUB PLANNED SPECIAL LEVY
Slovak banks criticised on Tuesday the government's plan to
introduce a special levy on the financial industry next year,
saying the sector's current contributions to the state budget
was appropriate.

ICE HOCKEY-GABORIK JOINS SLOVAK SQUAD FOR WORLDS
Marian Gaborik of the New York Rangers is to join up with
the Slovakia squad for the IIHF World Championship starting on
Friday after his NHL side were knocked out of the playoffs.

SLOVENSKE ELEKTRARNE FINED 115,000 EUR
Slovak power company Slovenske Elektrarne (SE), unit of
Italy's utility Enel <ENEI.MI>, was fined 115,000 euro
($168,200) by the Office for Nuclear Supervision (UJD) for
breaching administrative proceedings. The SE's appeal was
rejected and it has to pay the penalty.

REPEATED STATE PROSECUTOR VOTE
The constitutional court's decision said the parliament will
have to repeat a secret vote on the new state prosecutor. The
court objected that the original vote was coordinated by the
coalition. Prime Minister Iveta Radicova said she would resign
if the parliament re-appoints the previous state prosecutor.

TIPOS APPEALS TO CONSTITUTIONAL COURT
State-run lottery Tipos will appeal to the constitutional
court in a case against a little-know Cyprus-based Lemikon, to
which Slovak paid 16 million euro in an off-court settlement.
The highest court order Tipos to pay another 14 million euro in
a fine for abusing know-how.
