Volkswagen AG <VOWG.DE>, said on Friday it would raise
production capacity of its flagship Octavia model at the main
plant north of Prague.

UNIPETROL UP ON INVESTOR RAISING STAKE:Shares in Czech
downstream oil group Unipetrol <UNEPsp.PR> rise over 5 percent
after the company reported that investor Levos raised its stake
in the firm to 4.25 percent from 2.23 percent.

PPI FAR ABOVE FCAST: Czech industrial producer prices rose
1.0 percent month-on-month in March and 6.3 percent
year-on-year, far above market expectations and the biggest
annual rise since August 2008, data showed on Friday.

CEE MARKETS:The forint eased a shade on Friday ahead of a
meeting on Monday where the central bank (NBH) is expected to
keep interest rates unchanged despite a rise in inflation
pressure in Europe.

COALITION WOES: The junior coalition partner party Public
Affairs is seriously considering leaving the government, the
head of its parliament caucus Karolina Peake was quoted as
saying. The party would then support a minority Civic Democrats
(ODS) and TOP09 government. She said disagreement among the
coalition partners over who should lead the interior ministry
was the core of the political crisis.

UNICREDIT TO DOUBLE LOCAL BRANCHES: Italy's lender UniCredit
<CRDI.MI> plans to double the number of local branches to 120 by
the end of the year, UniCredit's CEO Frederico Ghizzoni said.
The bank is eyeing acquisitions in central and eastern Europe.
In the Czech Republic there is no such opportunity at the
moment.
