WARSAW, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press

HUNGARIAN BANKS
Hungary is planning to make proposals by next week to ease
the exchange rate risks linked to households' foreign currency
borrowing, Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany said on Friday.

ELECTRICA
Romania's state-owned power distributor Electrica said will
invest 1.2-1.5 billion euros in renewable energy in the next
five years and its deliveries to industrial clients will double
in 2009, daily Ziua reports.
Daily Business Standard reports Electrica's turnover rose 30
percent in the first nine-months of this year to 4.5 billion lei
($1.60 billion).
POLISH CENTRAL BANK
Poland's central bank will be ready from Friday to provide
liquidity to banks if they require it, the bank said in a
statement. The central bank also said it would start making FX
swap transactions with the commercial banks starting Friday.

VOESTALPINE
Austrian steelmaker Voestalpine <VOES.VI> on Thursday
postponed to next year a decision about a new 5 billion euro
($6.8 billion) steel plant in the Black Sea region due to
concerns about financing and demand. []
KBC
The Hungarian unit of Belgium's KBC Group <KBC.BR>,
Hungary's third biggest bank by total assets, has suspended
issuing two types of household loans requiring just 5 percent
downpayment, the bank said on Thursday. []
OTP
Hungary's OTP Bank <OTPB.BU> said on Thursday that it
abandoned plans to sell its units in Serbia as Slovakia as the
global financial crisis cut prices.[]
EUROPEAN MARKETS
European index futures pointed to a stronger open on
Friday, with investors seen tracking gains in the U.S and
Japanese markets and picking up battered shares at the end of a
volatile week.
At 0627 GMT, futures for the DJ Euro Stoxx 50 <STXEc1>,
Germany's DAX <FDXc1> and France's CAC <FCEc1> were up 5.4-6.2
percent.
