GAS SUPPLIES
The government's crisis committee will meet to debate
situation with Russian gas supplies, 1000 GMT.
EURO CONVERSION
Prime Minister Robert Fico, central bank Governor Ivan
Sramko and The Slovak Banking Association will meet to debate
the state of introduction of the euro currency, 1000 GMT.
PRICE SURVEY
The Statistics Office will publish an extraordinary survey on
consumer prices after euro adoption.
SLOVAKIA SAYS RUSSIAN GAS SUPPLIES HALTED
Slovakia's gas firm Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel (SPP)
said on Wednesday natural gas supplies from Russia had been
halted overnight, adding further information would be added
later in the day.

SLOVAKIA TO CALL STATE OF EMERGENCY OVER GAS
Slovakia prepared to declare a state of emergency on Tuesday
after the natural gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine cut
supplies there by 70 percent.

CROWN WITHDRAWAL
The National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) said it had pulled out
crown banknotes and coins worth 11 billion crowns in the first
four days of the year, which accounts to 14 percent of all crown
liquidity at the end of 2008.
