BUDGET: The leading rightist party Civic Democrats (ODS) is
pressing the government to cut public sector wages as a way of
mitigating the steep rise in the 2010 budget deficit. It said it
would otherwise remove its ministers from the technocrat
government. ODS allowed for the approval of the 2010 budget in
parliament last week by not taking part in the vote.
