WARSAW, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press

OTP, PKO BP
Hungary's largest lender OTP Bank <OTPB.BU> held talks with
Polish Treasury Minister Aleksander Grad about a potential
purchase of a 21 percent stake in a state-controlled bank PKO BP
<PKOB.WA>, newspaper Napi Gazdasag reported on Wednesday without
giving sources.
KGHM <KGHM.WA>
Workers at Poland's state-controlled copper miner KGHM
<KGHM.WA> will vote in the middle of October whether to go on
strike over wages, the head of one of its largest trade unions
said on Tuesday. []
KGHM's supervisory board will vote on October 9 whether to
dismiss the company's Chief Executive Miroslaw Krutin, daily
Rzeczpospolita reports.
Citigroup cut KGHM price target to 85 zlotys from 115 zlotys
and kept its "buy" recommendation for the stock.
PRIVATISATION RELAUNCH
Romania's privatisation agency AVAS plans to relaunch the
sale of the state's majority stake in aircraft maker Avioane
Craiova by Oct. 20, Ziarul Financiar writes.
AVAS rejected on Monday a bid by Czech firm Aero Vodochody
to buy the company.
BOS <BBOS.WA>
Polish state-controlled lender Bank Ochrony Srodowiska (BOS)
<BBOS.WA> has received access to $42.16 million in "emergency
funding" from another local bank, it said on Tuesday.

BGZ
The owners of Polish Bank BGZ have pushed back their
deadline for an initial public offering valued at as much as
$423 million to the end of the March 2009, the bank said on
Tuesday. []
EUROPEAN MARKETS
European shares looked set for a firmer start on Wednesday,
tracking a Wall Street rally after news that the U.S. Senate
will vote later in the day on a new version of the $700 billion
bank bailout plan.

WALL STREET
Wall Street had its best day in six years on Tuesday, a day
after its worst sell-off since just after the October 1987 stock
market crash, as investors bet Washington would revive a plan to
stabilize the U.S. financial sector after its surprising defeat
