Austrian oil and gas group OMV <OMVV.VI> says it would no
longer pursue Hungarian rival MOL <MOLB.BU> following a
year-long standoff, saying the European Commission demanded

Romania's oil and gas group Petrom <SNPP.BX>, majority owned
by Austria's OMV <OMVV.VI>, reports a 36 percent rise in net
profit in the second quarter, far below market expectations.

zlotys ($48 million) in a refrigerators factory in southeast

BLUE AIR
Romanian low-cost airline Blue Air won a 45 million euros
($69.59 million) contract with state-owned postal service
company Posta Romana to transport mail, Business Standard

RICHTER GEDEON
HSBC cuts Richter Gedeon <GDRB.BU> price target to 34,100
forints from 34,600, but maintains "neutral" rating.
Richter Gedeon's Romanian unit posted a 68 percent rise in
sales in the first half of the year to 74.7 million euros,

PRAGUE BOURSE
A majority stake in the Prague Stock Exchange (PSE) may soon
be up for sale, the public Czech Television reported, citing its
largest shareholder. []

Poland's national carrier LOT [] warned on Tuesday it
would need to restructure to avoid a possible cash crunch and
forecast a $133 million operating loss, clouding up an already
uncertain path to privatisation. []
AGORA
The flagship newspaper of Polish publisher Agora <AGOD.WA>
sold 7.9 percent fewer copies in June than a year earlier, PAP
newswire reported on Tuesday, citing data from industry
monitoring group. []
EUROPEAN MARKETS
