EU TREATY: The European Union reached a deal on Thursday
that opens the way to ratification of a treaty to increase its
influence in world affairs, but failed to agree on funding for a
pact to combat climate change.

CEZ TO SWAP PLANT FOR COAL MINE: Privately owned coal miner
Czech Coal is close to a deal with power company CEZ <>
to swap its CSA brown coal pit for one of the utility's power
stations, sources told Reuters on Thursday.

multi-month lows on Thursday and stocks reversed losses after
investors bought up riskier assets following data showing a

TEMELIN: Bids for completing CEZ's <CEZPsp.RP> Temelin
nuclear plant are due today by midday. The order is estimated to
be worth 500 billion crowns ($27.76 billion). CEZ expects some 6
bidders to apply. The tender will run till the end of 2011.
